I don't know the answer to your question but maybe you could take several sightings and figure them both ways. if your results are close you might have your answer.

Of course it has always moved but now appears to be accelerating. I found a few years ago that the declination of my old yopo maps was off by 2 or 3 degrees. It will be interesting to see what happen...

I was able to see it well. I wonder if the eclipse bends the light somewhat. I took a number of sun sights during the event but so far have only reduced two of them. They are both off by 20+ miles....
